Those who know Homs must have noticed that it is an old historical city and has a moderate climate. It connects Damascus, the capital of the South, and Aleppo, the capital of the North. Homs is connecting the sea from the west with Palmyra and Al-Sham desert from the east, that created the mild climate which the city is known for. According to some historians, this mild climate may have influenced the people of Homs to be moderate and humour. These characteristics have contributed to the Syrian culture. In recent years, it has been named the capital of the revolution, but who ever knows Homs will say it is the heart of Syria. "Echo Of Homs" is just an attempt to express love for Homs.
The exhibition "Echo of Homs" is an opportunity to know the social, cultural and artistic life of the city and dig deeper in its cultural heritage through photographs of historic and symbolic sites, as well as a selection of artwork by artists from Homs and other activities that aim to build a strong connection with the city, its people and their traditions. All the artworks that have been exhibited in Depo between 8th of July and 6th of August can be accessed through our website.
